How licensing works in Baja California

In Baja California only individuals holding a license and companies registered with REAPI may broker real estate (art. 9 of the state law). The license lasts 3 years; the application requires, among other documents, a real-estate course with official RVOE accreditation of at least 40 hours, a criminal-record certificate and a consumer contract registered with PROFECO. Notaries must check that the agent holds a current registration and license before formalizing the deal (art. 6).
